Power Cruiser 36 is a little ship designed for the simple life cruising long term or anchored in a quiet cove for the weekend. She has a real pilothouse to enjoy the scenery in any weather. The cabin is nicely laid out for serving visitors and occasional crew. The fo′c′le is a separate sleeping cabin. The engine room is large and will carry spares, stores and equipment with room left over. Other arrangements are possible including tugboat and trawler style house forward. If you look at her closely, you can imagine a hold amidship for trading goods between the islands.

With an economical diesel, she will cruise at 8 knots for hours with a range of 500 nmi or more. Construction is plywood and epoxy over straight frames. Steel construction is possible. This little ship has great potential for modest means.

Estimated cost for quality construction materials (not including power or sails) is $4 to $6 per pound. This cost includes a high level of outfit and finish you can be proud of after putting the effort into building this fine boat.
